Bob Carbone joins M&J Engineers.

Dear Colleague,

Bob CarboneIt gives me great pleasure to announce that Mr. Robert J. Carbone has joined our firm as Project Manager of all field operations.

Mr. Carbone is a highly respected industry veteran with over forty years of heavy construction experience. Starting his career with the New York State Department of Transportation in 1969 as a member of a concrete inspection crew building the bridges and roadways of the Richmond Parkway/West Shore Expressway Interchange on Staten Island, he was immediately identified as a team leader.
His partnering skills, ability to deliver on schedule and expertise acquired over his years with the New York State Department of Transportation resulted in his designation as Engineer-in-Charge of the $140 million Cross Island Parkway/Long Island Expressway Reconstruction Project.

Other notable multi-million dollar New York State Department of Transportation projects where he served as Engineer-In-Charge were the Reconstruction of the Woodhaven Boulevard Bridge. Rehabilitation of the Van Wyck Expressway Roadway from Kennedy Airport to the Kew Gardens Interchange and Structural Repairs and Replacement of Bearings on the Long Island Expressway from Main Street to the Nassau/Queens county line. His rise through the ranks has provided him with both a solid knowledge base in all aspects of roadway and bridge construction as well as a reputation for responsiveness and personal rapport with both clients and crew that could not have otherwise been achieved.

Upon his retirement from We New York State Department of Transportation in 2003, Mr. Carbone joined the consultant field as Project Manager for numerous projects in New York and New Jersey. Most recently in 2006-2008 he returned to the field and served as Resident Engineer on the Repaving of the Southern State Parkway from We Nassau/Queens county line to the Meadowbrook Parkway.
During Mr. Carbone's career with the New York State Department of Transportation, he was recognized on three occasions: New York State Department of Transportation Deputy Chief Engineer Citations 1995 and 2000; Associated General Contractors of America, Excellence in Partnering citation, 1995.
