Charles Leute, P.E. named Senior VP and Branch Manager of the Florida Office

March 10, 2017 – New Hyde Park, NY – M&J Engineering, PC (M&J) is pleased to announce that Charles Leute recently joined the firm as Senior Vice President based in the firm’s New Hyde Park, NY headquarters.  Mr. Leute also serves as branch manager of the Florida office.

With over 40 years’ experience, Mr. Leute joined M&J from Ammann & Whitney Consulting Engineers where he served in increasingly responsible positions culminating as Chief Operating Officer (COO).  In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing all financial and administrative matters required to run the 350-person firm with offices in New York; Pennsylvania; Virginia; Maryland; Washington, DC; and Florida.  He was also responsible, along with the chief engineer, for quality oversight of design functions for the firm.  Previously, as Senior Vice President of Construction Services, he had responsibility for all aspects of the firm’s construction management/inspection business in NY, NJ, and PA.

Throughout his career Mr. Leute served as Principal-in-Charge of numerous complex projects, including: the $420 million Rehabilitation of the Alexander Hamilton Bridge and the $35 million Reconstruction of Hillside and Jamaica Avenue Bridges over the Van Wyck Expressway for NYSDOT; the $28 million award-winning Reconstruction of Columbus Circle, Manhattan for NYC Department of Design and Construction; Design-Build for the Replacement/Reconstruction of Six Bridges, Brooklyn, NY  for NYCDOT; the $20 million Redecking of the Delaware River Bridge Truss and Girder Spans, Bristol, PA for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission;  the $30 million Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Brooklyn Approach Redecking for MTA-Bridges and Tunnels; and various highway projects throughout New Jersey for NJDOT.

He also spent over two decades at Raytheon Engineers and Constructors/Ebasco Services where he served as project manager on numerous bridge and highway projects, and served for 25 years in the Army National Guard achieving the rank of major and serving as Company Commander of a 150-person Forward Support Maintenance Company, Commander of a Battalion Headquarters Company, and as Maintenance Operations Officer for a 700-person Maintenance Battalion.
