As a subconsultant to Jacobs Engineering, M&J Engineering is providing ITS construction inspection personnel services as required by various federally funded projects. In addition to the inspection component, the project also includes installing ITS components, such as Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Variable Message Signs (VMS), Close Circuit Television (CCTV), Highway Advisory Radios (HAR), Meter Cabinets, Fiber Optic Cable, etc.
The work is being performed statewide in all 21 counties and includes providing engineering and inspection services to augment NJDOT staff and being responsible to the State's Engineer; becoming familiar with plans, specifications, and other related documents; checking construction for compliance with shop drawings; reviewing recommended ITS-Related Construction Contract Progress Schedules and Updates; taking measurements and gathering pertinent records and reports and calculations in accordance with NJDOT procedures.
