M &J Engineering, PC developed conceptual designs for the TMC that was built in Colonie, New York and operated by the NYSDOT Region 1 and the New York State Police. The new TMC components includes a state-of-the-art IP based Digital Video System (Axis)with integration to a large scale Video Wall (Barco). The central components hand-off video to the cable TV consortium and will include interfaces to new Gig-E IP distribution system along with interfaces to the legacy components. Work included a Conceptual Design, System Engineering with Concept of Operations detailing how the new components will operate. Including network interfaces which allow the field data to be connected to the business network. The last task was the development of As-Built Documentation including a field inventory and as-built documentation of the new central and field assets, including over 30 permanent VMS (Daktronics/Imago/Display Solutions/3M DMS). Schematic diagrams were developed which document the NYSDOT Central components including the interfaces and networking.
